On July 10, the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) issued a warning regarding a cybersecurity threat.


NÚKIB warns against the use of products, applications, solutions, websites, and web services—including application programming interfaces (APIs)—provided by Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd., or any of its predecessors, successors, parent companies, subsidiaries, or affiliated entities.


The warning and information regarding the ban on the use of certain 'DeepSeek' products at Charles University will be available soon at Intranet of the Cybersecurity department.


This warning does not apply to security testing, research, and analysis of the affected products, nor to open-source large language models developed by Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd.


Based on the issued warning, Charles University is implementing security measures:


A ban on the use of products, applications, solutions, websites, and web services—including application programming interfaces (APIs)—provided by Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd., or any of its predecessors, successors, parent companies, subsidiaries, or affiliated entities, for work purposes on university-owned devices (e.g., desktop computers, mobile phones, laptops, tablets) or on personal devices connected to the university network.
