Below you will find the updated list of available AI tools at CUNI. If you are thinking of using a different one for work, education or research and you are not sure about the safety of it, please contact the E-learning Support Centre (elearning@cuni.cz).

Microsoft Copilot in Education


Chatbot in a web browser (works best in Microsoft Edge). It can generate text, images, and computer code



Available at copilot.microsoft.com for all employees and students of Charles university, Accessed through your university e-mail and CAS login. More info here..



Specialised AI Tools




Microsoft 365 Copilot


AI assistant integarted into Microsoft 365 products (for example Word or Excel).


The license is available for employees of Charles University, not for students. The cost is approximately 900 CZK per month (depending on the current USD exchange rate and Microsoft's pricing). To obtain a license, please contact your faculty's M365 tools administrator.



Grammarly



A digital tool for checking English spelling that uses artificial intelligence and natural language processing.


Licenses are provided based on requests from students or employees of Charles University, and the assigned licenses are recorded as library loans. Currently, Charles University has 895 licenses available, which can be used by registered readers through the central search engine UKAŽ. More info here.



Writefull



A tool for academic writing that provides advanced proofreading of texts in English. It is available as a web version, web application, or MS Word add-in. 



To access Writefull for Word, you need a university email address in the format xxx@domena.cuni.cz or xxx@cerge-ei.cz. Instructions on how to access the tool can be found here.


Oxford English Dictionary

AI assistant

AI Assistant for the Oxford English Dictionary.

It allows for more precise searches and helps find the most relevant information for users, making searches easier and more accessible."




Oxford English Dictionary is accessible for Charles University here.

In the top right corner, you will find the AI research assistant.



JSTOR AI Research Tool




Trial


An interactive tool utilizing artificial intelligence to facilitate browsing the JSTOR database. It helps in finding key ideas, assessing the relevance of texts, and discovering related topics.

Developper Tools



GitHub Copilot






GitHub Copilot is an AI-powered coding assistant that helps programmers write code more efficiently. It integrates with popular code editors and provides real-time code suggestions, auto-completion, and even entire code snippets based on the context you are working in.







GitHub Copilot is available for free only to students and educators at Cuni (not for administrative staff).

Sign in here.

After creating a personal (free) account, you will be prompted at the bottom of the page to submit an application, where you will need to enter the name of your university. Sign in using your university email address. (If your email address is not recognized, GitHub may ask you to upload a document proving your student/educator status, such as a student/university card.)



Metacentrum

As a member of a research organization, you can apply for access to Metacentrum. This grants you access to various tools and services, including those that utilize LLMs such as:





JupyterHub



Provides users with access to shared virtual computing resources without the burden of installation and maintenance tasks. JupyterHub can be used to run various user interfaces, including Jupyter Notebook, Jupyter Lab, and RStudio, for programming in Python or R. Additionally, thanks to access to the virtual machine terminal, it allows the use of other Linux-based tools, including LLM management tools like Ollama.







Kubernetes



An open-source system for automating the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications/virtual machines.
